Honey Nut Chex

YAY for General Mills - GF cereal now becomes reasonably priced.

Several

We all love Bakery On Main cereals especially Nutty Cranberry Maple Granola and Extreme Fruit and Nut Granola. For hot cereal, I like Quinoa Flakes. My 13 year old daughter like Envirokidz Koala Crisp.

Kays Naturals is the best!

My favorite is Kays Naturals Better Balance Protein Cereal. Honey Almond is the best, but they also have French Vanilla and Apple Cinnamon. It's also great as a very portable sweet, crunch snack right out of the box.

favorite gluten-frree cereal

I love Mesa Sunrise, corn chex and rice chex. Kudos to General Mills!

WOW to General Mills

I have recently found at Walmart Corn Chex are now Gluten free. One word of warning... The package will say Gluten-free. If it does not, then it is from an older stock that is not Gluten-free. Made this mistake with my husband. Applause to all the companies, restaurants, & manufacturers who have chosen to step into the ever growing need for Gluten-free products!!

Breakfast GF Cereals

Chex is selling both Rice and Corn Chex Gluten Free. Make sure the box says, "gluten free" as some older boxes are not gluten free. They will soon provide honey/nut, chocolate, and strawberry as Gluten Free. Cost is VERY cheap and no funny taste. Just good.

Post has GF cereals, too.

There has been a lot of dispute over whether or not Post Fruity Pebbles and Post Cocoa Pebbles are gf. I called the company and they ARE GF. I give them to my daughter on occasion and she has no reaction. The Envirokids Peanut Butter Pandas cereal is really good, too. Good to take along in the diaper bag.

My 11yo son really loves...

Joe's O's, from Trader Joe's. Essentially the same as Cheerios, but completely gluten-free. They even have the honey nut version.

GF Cereal

Rice Chex by General Mills, Chocolate Chex by General Mills, Cream of rice

My 9 year -old son loves...

All of the new Rice Chex cereals, especially the chocolate. His favorite though is just the plain Rice Chex.

Gluten free cereals

my faveorite is the envirokids organic Gorilla Munch. it is good with milk (or in my case goat milk) or without it for a snack or on the go. my grandmother gave it the name "monkey munch" and so thats what we call it now:) God bless-Olivia

Hands Down...

Trader Joe's Loaded Fruit and Nut Gluten-Free Granola (which is, I believe, a generic version of the Bakery on Main granola). Delicious with Greek yogurt!

Certified GF Oatmeal

I'm not much of a cold cereal fan. I like certified GF oatmeal though. I realize there are Celiacs that can't eat oats but they appear to agree with me and add good nutritional value to gluten-free diets- again for those that can tolerate them.

Low-Carb GF Hot Cereals

I haven't found any cold cereals which are both GF and won't send my blood sugar up (I'm pre-diabetic). For hot cereals, I take either flax seed meal or chia seeds, add a pinch of salt, boiling water, and any mix-ins I like -- peanut butter, fruit, cinnamon, etc -- with a little sweetener.

Hubby's favorites are ...

Bakery on Main's Nutty Cranberry Maple Granola, EnviroKidz Organic Amazon Frosted Flakes, and Erewhon Rice Cereal.

Just Like Rice Chex

I'm not a big cereal eater, but I do like the Health Valley Rice Crunch-ems. They taste just like Rice Chex, but they're gluten and casein free. I keep some in a snack bag in my purse for nibbling, or I'll toss them in a bowl of yogurt with a sliced banana and mix them all up.
