It's no secret that dining out gluten-free can be perilous. But many restaurant chains are stepping up with new gluten-free menus and safe menu options.

What's been your experience with eating out at restaurants with gluten-free menus? Do you have a favorite? One you tend to avoid? Share your stories with other readers.

My Story

Hello Everybody , It all started long long time back,15 years or maybe 18 but they look like centuries, more than 14 doctors here and abroad, two family doctors and to them everything was fine so fine that they started to say I am misbehaving and there is nothing wrong with me even my family started to sail with them and they all thought that i just don not want to do the hard job. Celiac was one problem to fight them was a bigger problem than celiac till we all came to know that i am celiac and that to in an indirect way . I was on ECG n ETD for more than 50 times i was c/scanned twice , ultrasound 3 time , Angiography once , every 10 days a new blood test , every time they say test is ok , I WAS NEVER HAPPY , and than one day they said i have B12 and D3 deficiency and ray of hope was born in me and from there on another 6 month to know that i am celiac and gluten free and corn free is the way out . NO DOCTOR HELPED ME REACH THIS POINT of recovery BUT MY COMPUTER , INTERNET AND

Not all whiskeys are equal

I would like to point out that drinking a single malt whiskey for someone with celiac disease is problematic for a number of reasons. Malt is made from barley, which (as we all know) contains gluten. It is added AFTER the distillation process. Anything that has malt added to it contains gluten. This is why many of the flavored vodkas are a big no-no. If you tried an Irish whiskey that is not malted you may have a different experience. Then again, if you are extremely sensitive any type of alcohol may be more than your digestive system can handle.
