Wedding cakes are among the highlights of every reception, and gluten-free brides and grooms deserve wonderful gluten-free wedding cakes that aren't toxic for them. Don't let family or friends tell you a gluten-free cake is too much trouble or that it won't taste good. If your wedding is being catered, ask if the caterer can provide a gluten-free wedding cake. If not, ask the caterer to let you order your own cake and give you a credit toward the price of it.
I've compiled a list of cake designers who can prepare gluten-free wedding cakes. This list is not complete, but it's at least a place to start. Many cake designers will deliver their creations to weddings in neighboring states. You can also ask for recommendations from other celiacs, members of local celiac support groups, local dietitians or even local bakers.
