Definition:

The gluten-free casein-free diet — abbreviated as the GFCF diet — eliminates the proteins gluten (found in the grains wheat, barley and rye) and casein (found in milk).

Some people who cannot have gluten find they also react to casein, forcing them to avoid casein-containing products as well as gluten-containing products. In addition, many parents of autistic children report improvements after starting the children on GFCF diets.

To follow the GFCF diet, you must avoid all products containing any gluten or casein, which places many conventional processed foods and all milk-derived dairy products off-limits.
