You absolutely can have celiac disease if you don't suffer from diarrhea. In fact, studies show only a little more than one-third of people report diarrhea at diagnosis, while another 15% have constipation. Meanwhile, about 30% don't have any gastrointestinal symptoms at all!

Therefore, if your family doctor tells you that you can't have celiac disease because you don't have diarrhea (and maybe because you're overweight), don't believe her -- she's just wrong.
