With Halloween just around the corner, my thoughts usually turn more to candy than to healthy snacks. But that may change: Nature's Path, which makes EnviroKidz products, is introducing treat-sized EnviroKidz Lemur Peanut Choco Drizzle Crispy Rice Bars, perfect for passing out to trick-or-treaters or dropping in a school lunch box.
The organic, low-fat, low-sodium, whole grain treat bars are certified gluten-free by the Gluten Free Certification Organization, and contain no genetically modified organisms.
As with all other EnviroKidz products, Nature's Path will donate 1 percent of all sales proceeds to non-profit organizations that benefit habitat conservation, endangered species and youth education.
Halloween can pose some challenges for celiac children, but it's possible to enjoy a gluten-free Halloween with a little preparation. If you have a celiac child, you may want to keep some of these EnviroKidz bars around to trade with your child if she comes home with gluten-containing candy.
