There's another gluten-free pasta option available: Heartland Pasta has introduced gluten-free fusilli, penne and spaghetti.

Heartland Pasta's new gluten-free pastas can be purchased nationwide and are available at Walmart Supercenters. The products also are free of eggs and dairy.

A spokesperson for parent company American Italian Pasta Co. tells me that the gluten-free pasta is manufactured on shared equipment, but workers clean the equipment thoroughly and then run test batches before making the gluten-free products.

In addition, Heartland Pasta tests samples of the final products to make certain they comply with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's proposed limit of 20 parts per million of gluten in gluten-free foods. The company maintains a strict protocol to guard against cross contamination, the spokesperson says.

I would love to see these pastas offered at a store other than WalMart, at which I will never again shop.

Thanks very much for this information. I will happily purchase these products at Walmart and certainly appreciate their support of providing additional choices for those of us with Celiac Disease.

I am pleased to see some new products available
(even at Walmart) as I don’t have many outlets available
for any GF products. I live in rural West Virginia and the
market here for GF products is practically nonexistent.
My income is also extremely limited and “beggars can’t be choosers”, especially in my neck of the woods!

I have to say Walmart is not my favorite store but it’s worth putting prejudice aside and picking up this product. It’s absolutely fantastic and combines the best of rice and corn pasta. You get the consistency of corn pasta (wonderful al-dente pasta) without the off-putting orange color usually associated with corn pasta. Simply wonderful! Even the non-celiacs in my house love it and it’s cheap – around $2.00 a bag at my local Walmart. Compare that with over $3.00 for most other gluten free pasta at the healthfood store.

Ugghhhh, I wish more on-line stores carried this brand. I prefer to order and have stuff delivered than go to the store and fight the crowds.

I agree with the other lady who would like these products available in all other markets. I had occasion to eat this pasta for the first time this past weekend and was pleased to see that it isn’t like the rice pastas that I have been eating. I thought it was too good to be true. I enjoyed it very much.

Heartland pastas are now available at Amazon. But I still buy them at Walmart, because it’s the same price as Amazon’s Subscribe & Save, and I don’t have to buy 5 at a time.

My husband and brother both have Celiac. We all eat the Heartland spagetti and fusilli and thoroughly enjoy it. I purchase it at Warmart and am very pleased but we were wondering if you will ever have free coupons available since we are all senior citizens and on fixed incomes.
Thank you for the delicious Heartland spagetti and fusilli.

I am so glad that Walmart has expanded their gluten free choices..and they are affordable, only 2.08 for the 12 oz bag of Heartland penne pasta. I love Heartland pasta and the only place I can find it is Walmart. I have asked other grocery chains to order it, but no luck.

Just fixed the fusilli pasta for dinner tonight – it is great – can’t tell the difference from regular pasta. MUCH better than any we’ve tried. How about expanding to offer a linguine? Then life would be truly good!

I Purchased this pasta at wal-mart for the first time about a month ago. Thisis by far the best gluten- free pasta that I have ever eaten. Please offer this product to other stores to sell as wal- mart is not that close to where I live. If price chopper weis foods or a local gerrity’s super market would be willing to stock this pasta it would be great. If not feasible please allow gf customers to make purchases on line. Much success with this new line of gf pasta I absolutely love this pasta.

When I first went on gluten free. Was missing my pasta. But, found walmart was selling them. I tried them. To, me its closest to the real thing. I love it.
But, also wish other stores carried them as well. I can’t get to walmart that much. But, I do have a grocery store right across the road from me. They do carry Heartland, just not the gluten free kind.

None of the Walmarts around here, NJ, even heard of the product. Where did you who have purchased it find it?
