All of us know how hard it is to save money on gluten-free food. Gluten-free substitutes for "regular" food –- pastas, breads, cereals, pizza doughs, cookies -– are expensive, and so are the fresh, unprocessed ingredients we bake and cook with. Now, with help from other About.com guides (and especially, the guide to Frugal Living), I’ve come up with 35 easy ways to save money on basic gluten-free cooking ingredients. If you stock your pantry with these low-cost do-it-yourself substitutes, you’ll spend less money – and you can put the savings toward products that are not as simple to make as the ones on my list.
